Sketch With a Friend

Gabi Campanrio, a friend of mine from work got together for an afternoon sketch break yesterday. This is a corner store/deli a couple blocks from our office building on the corner of Republican and Minor.

Lots new things for me in this sketch session. It was the first time I've sketched a cityscape like this, I don't remember ever drawing on such a small sketch book (3.5"x 5")and I think this is the first time I've sat down on the edge of a street and just started drawing. It was a lot of fun except for the part where Gabi's drawing put mine to shame. I had to go home and draw something cartoony in my sketchbook to feel better about myself.
